The cost of providing school uniforms can be overwhelming for many Canterbury families who are already surviving on very little.

They have no spare money for school uniforms, stationery or even school bags — in fact, the reality is many of these parents can’t afford to put food in their child's lunch box, let alone cover basic uniform costs.

The Christchurch City Mission needs $200,000 to put shirts on backs, shoes on feet and books in bags for children whose parents can’t afford uniforms, stationery, and other basics throughout the school year.

I'm really proud that my husband, for the 3rd year, is participating in an event raising funds for The Christchurch City Mission's Back To School Programme.

Over the last 2 years, he has raised over $40,000 for the deserving kids in our community.

Because I can raise more awareness of this need and raise more funds through Ruby + Bear than I could on my own, I will be supporting this awesome cause with different initiatives and donations, including donating 20% of all online sales during May.

The $10 donation button will be here throughout, so you can add to your cart as many or as often as you like when you order. 100% of your donation will go to The Christchurch City Mission through my hubby's Givealittle page. No discounts can be applied to this donation button, or to the From One Mother To Another 'EATS' Fundraising Cookbook.
